You might remember that a while ago I took care of a pregnant guinea pig doe (Lara) because her owners didn't feel experienced enough to do it.
She gave birth to two "twins", that we named Pinky (female) and Twinkie (male).
Now, Lara and her daughter Pinky have gone back to their home, where I was told a new, much bigger cage was waiting for them (their previous cage was torture. It was a large BIRD cage).
Lara's son, Twinkie (left one on the picture), stayed with us for a while.
The idea was to wait until he was old enough to be neutered, then get him a girlfriend, and they were both going to live in my mom's classroom and be taken care of by the kids and her (my mom is a teacher).
BUT, I saw an ad on the pet store board, of someone who wanted to give away their male guinea pig, because their other guinea pig died, and they didn't want to get another one, but they could clearly see thar their pig was lonely...
So a week ago we introduced Twinkie to this lonely, 8 months old piggie named Kokosnuss (his previous family is german, we just call him Koko).
They got along great, so we decided to keep Koko (right one on the picture)!
And yesterday we took them both to my mom's classroom.
They are currently in my old rabbit cage, which is more than big enough, but really not easy for the kids to clean.
At the end of june, I'll be going to my mom's classroom everyday for a week to help the kids build a C&C cage for their guinea pigs! :)
