Rock Island Arsenal welcomed about 750 people May 19 for the first Run the Rock 5k/10k + Kids Run event. The special event was designed in part to build a stronger connection between the off-island community and local military.
Maj. Gen. Duane Gamble, the RIA senior mission commander and ASC’s commanding general, was among those who welcomed the runners. He thanked the community for their support and encouraged them to visit the island often.
